Monitoring 2018

Jena's climate protection targets set out in the "Energy and Climate Protection Mission Statement 2014 - 2020" are reviewed annually. The current monitoring report is based on figures and data from 2017 and addresses the following points, among others

• Energy consumption for heating, electricity and mobility
• Expansion of renewable energies in the urban area
• CO2 balance of the city of Jena
• Status of implementation of the climate protection concept

Compared to 1990, CO2 emissions were reduced by around 69% in 2017. However, further efforts are still required to achieve the Thuringian climate protection targets by 2050.
