Cooperation with foodsharing Jena

In Germany, a total of almost 18 million tons of food ends up in the bin every year because it does not meet consumers' visual expectations, is past its best-before date or the quantity was miscalculated when shopping.

The city of Jena is therefore committed to a higher appreciation of food and to reducing food waste and supports the foodsharing Jena group. As a symbol of the partnership between foodsharing Jena and the city of Jena, the two partners have signed a declaration of motivation.

So far, the cooperation has included regular exchanges on the topic of food waste, joint public relations work and the search for further opportunities to save food from being thrown away in Jena.
